About Us

SCE Fitness & Wellness Center

Our Vision

K.Jay and his wife, Heather started SCE Fitness in 2013 in Spokane WA. Their vision was to create a personalized gym that would cultivate a safe atmosphere where people can come and be who they are. And in the process of finding physical health, healing, or competitor level training, would inevitably lead to mental and spiritual health as well -- creating a whole-body balance.

Our goal is to implement SCE (Strength, Core, and Endurance) with everything that we do. We understand that things in our body, mind, and soul are all connected. When one of those elements is hurting, no matter how minor, it wears down the other two, creating an imbalance.

Our vision is to create a balance of overall health. To strengthen the foundation of who you are, to teach you how to steady the core of your life, and to grow in your endurance to not just survive in this life, but to thrive and be able to live YOUR best life.

Owner/Master Fitness & Life Coach

K.Jay Davis

NESTA Certified Personal Trainer, Biomechanics Specialist, Master Health and Wellness Coach, ITCA Triathlon & Endurance Sports Nutrition, Certified Spartan SGX Coach, Moody Bible Institute Alumni, Nationally Certified EMT, and Ironman

Physical fitness has been a huge part of K.Jay's life and the lives of others for over 13 years. Before he was a trainer, he spent most of his life unhappy with the decisions he made. He was overweight, tired, and looking for a change. He spent time learning from past failed experiences and found that hard work does pay off.

In 2015 he become an IRONMAN triathlon 140.6 2015 finisher, he is a top 10 Spartan finisher every year and runs with the Elites in the Ultra races to humble and better himself on every level- mind body, and soul. These personal achievements, along with other races have provided him hands-on experience in training, innovative and effective nutrition, and developing the mental capacity it takes to accomplish difficult and physically demanding races. His aspiration for you is to experience and learn how to grow in ways you never knew possible. Through his journey and with your perseverance and consistency, you will break through barriers to attain more personal growth than you ever hoped for.

He loves the saying, "Motivate the Mind and the Body Will Follow,"  because it is the basis of what he does. With accountability, expertise, and application, he motivates his clients to mentally push themselves farther than they have ever pushed before to achieve goals they never thought possible. Physical fitness is more psychological than anything else. His whole objective for you is "change for life for the rest of your life." If the mind is not involved or motivated, the results will be temporary at best.

His clients consider him to be fun, high-energy, and always wearing a smile. His great passion is to watch his clients achieve their goals and realize their full potential in life.

Personal Trainer

Seth Peterson

NESTA Certified Personal Trainer, EMT

Yo! As you probably saw from the big text above this, I’m Seth! I love God, my wife, mountain bikes, and ridiculously loud and overpowered cars. I am currently training as a NESTA Personal Trainer at SCE. You’ll probably see me quite literally running around the building training right alongside you! I have an extensive background in mountain and road bike racing. I’ve also been consistently training in resistance-style workouts for many years. As a professional, I’ve had the joy of being a Firefighter/EMT and working in a hospital.

Physical fitness has always been a passion of mine. I grew up playing competitive baseball and riding my bike. I grew up watching World Cup Downhill races and telling myself I’d race like that one day and be a pro. God had other plans for my life. In high school, I was living a life of anguish fueled by a hatred of Christ. Why? Because I wanted to live my life in sin and avoid all the consequences. I wanted my physical prowess to be my identity. My friend, it doesn’t work like that - and I found out real quickly. I had a massive bike wreck that all but killed me and put me in bed rest for the better part of two years.

Through that, I realized just how wrong I had it! God needed to be the center of my life. So I gave my life to Him. After that, fitness and working out have so much more meaning! Training is good, but godliness is paramount (1 Timothy 4:8), and when Christ is my fullest joy, I have found so much more fulfillment in working out (Psalm 34:8). I see mountain bike rides as a way to be in nature and praise God. I see gym workouts as a way to train my body to better serve Christ and love those who trust me to lead them!

I am learning so much about Christ and fitness every single day. I have so much more to learn, but I’m so excited to learn with you! I’m Christ’s servant, and if he’s called me to help lead you in your life, fitness or not, let’s do this thing!

Lesley Hackett

R.I.P.P.E.D Certified Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer and Weight Loss Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), B.S in Kinesiology from Sacramento State University with an emphasis in physical education

Hi! I'm Lesley Hackett. From time to time you might see me covering for Kjay as a coach here at SCE Fitness and other times, I'll be training right alongside you. 🙂

It's hard to say when my passion for fitness really took flight. I was an active kid and grew up playing multiple sports in high school. After I graduated, I dove into the gym scene as a means of staying fit. Sadly, it became an unhealthy obsession that took me down a road to an eating disorder and an unhealthy intensity for exercise that kept me in an anxious state for several years. I was training as a means solely to burn calories but without the joy. I didn't have direction or even a knowledge of how to properly exercise. I had a nickname of being the "cardio queen".

Why do I tell you this? Because I've found that it's not that uncommon. For me, that part of my life was over 10 years ago and to the glory of God, a part that isn't hard to talk about because it led me on a journey that has changed me to who I am today. Do I still workout for a means of burning calories? Absolutely. And I probably train with greater intensity and vigor than ever before. But it's with purpose now. It's with direction and guidance. And most importantly, I have  joy and a passion to train. I love challenges. I love the drive to see what my body is capable of. And I have learned that that is okay when done properly and in a healthy way. SCE fitness has helped me grow exponentially with this when I found this gym a little over 2 years ago.

Overall, I desire to be the strongest and healthiest version of me for 3 main reasons: 1) I want to compete as an elite Spartan racer. 2) I want to set an example for my kids - to inspire them and be an example of grit, determination, goal-setting, and discipline. 3) To point people to Jesus, my source of ultimate strength.

Because I have a passion for fitness and nutrition, I have obtained several certifications and went to school to enhance my knowledge of exercise physiology. Below is a list of my credentials:

  • Certified R.I.P.P.E.D instructor
  • Certified Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
  • Certified Weight Loss Specialist (NASM)
  • B.S in Kinesiology from Sacramento State University with an emphasis in physical education

And starting this fall 2021, I will be going back to school to obtain my Masters in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition to become a registered Dietician. I want to help others become the healthiest versions of themselves through nutrition and exercise.

I hope my story speaks to some of you. Please come say hi and introduce yourself to me if I haven't met you. I'm happy to help or assist in any way I can. And if you're thinking about joining SCE Fitness, don't hesitate. There's a family and team here that is willing and ready to cheer you on, encourage, and enhance your training to places you've never been before. Come join us!

Sean O'Regan

NESTA Master Personal Trainer, Biomechanics Specialist, Core Conditioning Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Coach, Heart Rate Performance Specialist, Speed Agility Quickness Specialist, Physique & Figure Training Specialist, Bachelor's in Economics, Minor is Finance, Training in Banking & Corporate Finance

I have been a gym enthusiast for 30 years. Exercise and music are my release, my healthy addiction if you will. They are addictions that I balance into my life so as not to take away from my family or my relationship with Jesus.

My physiological training has been speed, agility, and strength and I carry these into whatever activity I am doing. I enjoy playing soccer player, backpacking, hiking, Ultimate Frisbee, and mountain biking. As of 2021, I am on my 10th Tough Mudder competition.

Since August 2006 I have been sober from alcohol and Jesus truly came into my life and wrecked me, as Toby Mac would sing. He delivered me from addiction overnight and started to change me from the inside. The priorities I put on life changed rapidly. Jesus would become my identity.

I have a degree in Economics with a Minor in Finance. My training and work experience have been in banking and corporate finance. I have additional training through Washington Bankers Association.

I am becoming certified as a Master Personal Trainer. This includes biomechanics, core conditioning, fitness nutrition, heart rate performance, speed agility, and quickness, as well as physique and figure training. I am currently training for a physique competition, at the age of 47, in order to know and understand the process for future clients.

Every area of our lives requires reflection and discipline. My areas of knowledge are finance and physical training. SCE Fitness is the epitome of balance and training for the mind, body, and soul.
